I do not have a clear answer to this question. Recall reading somewhere about pros and cons of compressed vs uncompressed. I think it was about file processing or something like that. In addition, I could not find an answer to a simple question - why compress at 6 or 5 or 0.
Then dBPoweramp introduced uncompressed FLAC, and that was the end of my dilemma, as I decided to stick to uncompressed FLAC as a matter of my personal policy.
