    Nero m4a bitrate options question

    @ 14.3

Nero m4a conversion, under "quality" target, I'm curious why the variable bitrate slider indicates 250 Kbps, then 300 Kbps, rather than the industry standard of 256 and 320, without the option to choose them.? (or is that a Nero limitation)

Secondly, I also have xilisoft audio converter installed on my sytem and dbpoweramp seems to be influencing/conflicting with it's output results. Input a lossless Flac file and I'll set the output to 320 Kbps and it will convert to 192 Kbps. When I examine the file with MediaInfo, it shows dbpoweramp at the bottom. Thought I'd ask here before I uninstall dbpa.

dBpoweramp will not change the ability of another program to write to a file. It does how ever take over Windows ability to report on information in existing files (such as popup information).

Industry standard is not applicable across codecs and formats, also Nero AAC is VBR by definition so any bitrates shown are averages, the actual encoded value can change with VBR.
