Mp3 to WMA problem

I'm trying to convert some of my mp3's to wma in order to transfer them to my mp3 player. Bt I can't even get started, I installed the program and codec as per the website's instructions. Unistalled and tried again but still, everytime I pick the file I want to encode the program musicconverter.exe crashes and says:

Anybody have any idea what may cause this crash?

The Lame ACM codec is crashing - try finding that file 'lameacm.acm' and rename it to lameacm.old, then reboot.
