I am simply trying to use MC for the first time to convert a FLAC file (album) from HDTrack into an AIFF file. I open MC, find the FLAC file, select it and right click and the drop down menu has everything but Convert to listed. It specifically contains open, open in new window, share with, restore previous versions, include in library, send to, cut copy, create shortcut, delete, rename, and properties. I have updated my dBMusic Converter to 14.3 and no difference. I am running Windows 7. Please help! this can't be difficult!!

Re: no "Convert to" in MC right click dropdown menu
If you have too many items listed in the right click menu, then Windows decides to hide some, so the Convert To could be missing. Try uninstalling, reboot windows then reinstall and it might put it back. -

Okay, i tried this and still no luck :vmad: I also check the configuration and the boxes for Convert to and Edit-Tag were checked, along with a few other boxes. I tried unchecking all but the Convert To box and still no luck.Comment

Re: no "Convert to" in MC right click dropdown menu
Thanks Spoon for the quick response. This looks like it will work. I can find the files on the left side of the windo and place/select them in the right hand window. ONE remaining question though is how to preserve the ORIGINAL files (in this case FLAC files, which are my archival files)) and how to select where the converted files (in this case AIF) are to be located? I've read the help manual on the BC and it doesn't seem to have any info. Can you direct me to where these instructions may reside? Many thanks.Comment

Re: no "Convert to" in MC right click dropdown menu
If converting FLAC to AIFF the flac files are untouched.
You simply set the output folder for the converted files, or they can be set to go in the original folder.Comment
