Year data missing after conversion

When converting FLAC to MP3, I noticed that the year will not appear in the MP3 files if it's in the following format in the FLAC file:

YYYY MM

That is, the YEAR field is completely missing.

If the format is YYYY or YYYY MM DD in the FLAC file, the year DOES appear in the converted MP3 files as:

YYYY or
YYYY-MM-DD

I seem to recall that the YYYY MM format did carry over previously. Perhaps there's a setting I need to do this, but I can't find it.
