    rewriting of id3 tags

Hi. So, I decided one day to see if I could get better results for this 100cd jazz set through the gracenote winamp auto tagger. I looked at the first few discs, they seemed fine, so I thought, what the hell, I'll just apply the tags. Well, then I looked and they were messed up, the artists said "various artists" instead of the artist the disc should be. Previously, I had ripped these discs with dbpoweramp and freedb had done and ok job. Better, I found out, than the auto tagger. I'm wondering if somehow I can revert the tags back to what freedb had them with dbpoweramp? I realize that I could use mp3tag, great program, but it's not very accessible to me as a blind computer user. I've tried to get the artists right, but no dice. I'd rather not rip the 100 discs again, although I suppose if there's no choice, well ok. I've not experimented with the batch ripper because it takes me awhile to figure out where I left off in the sorting of the discs. Any advice on this one? I've tried too to use the cdplayer.ini file, but not sure how I could apply it to the tags properly. do I make sense at all?

dBpoweramp cannot auto tag like this currently.
