R13 Bug: Uninstall fails to completely uninstall

    On Windows 7

    1) Run dMC-R13.5-Ref-Registered.exe , and continue until installation finished.
    2) Run Unistall dMC , and continue until uninstallation finished.

Expected: all items created 1) are removed
Observed: some dbPoweramp items remain: registry keys, start menu Help shortcuts, "C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp" containing DLLs, icons, GIFs etc. and possibly more.

I don't know what other items are also not removed.

Anyone know if there's a known-complete workaround script for this?

Anyone know if thisis fixed on R14? I.e. if R14 Uninstall really does a complete uninstall?

    Thanks.

      In C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp, msvcp71.dll , msvcr71.dll. In DSPs\, various. In either encoders\ or decoders\ (I cannot recall which), various.

Look at Uninstall Programs in the control panel, there will be other items (starting dBpoweramp) which have yet to be uninstalled.

So there are - eleven dBpoweramp codecs, encoders, decoders and other. One has got to wonder how so much can have been forgotten from Uninstall dMC.

Anyone know if there's a known-complete workaround script for this?

Each file which has an install, has an associated uninstall. Have you checked in Control Panel?

Thankfully that's not what I find. There are dozens of files that have dMC-R13.5-Ref-Registered.exe as their install. They don't have one uninstall each.

They should have one uninstall for all. But they don't. If in "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" I uninstall all dBpoweramp items, then run the installer and then Uninstall dMC, DSP Effects is left behind.

You would uninstall the DSP effects as:

                dBpoweramp DSP Effects

                in the Programs and Features

                  Thanks for the workaround.

Are these uninstall failures fixed in R14?
