How to tag flac files with meta data?

I have hundreds of CDs ripped to WAV format.
Now I want to convert them to FLACs and tag them using dMC.

While converting WAVs to FLACs is not an issue, I cannot find a way to tag FLAC files with metadata.

    Need your guidance.
    Thanks

do the wav files have any sort of embedded metadata? May or may not be readable by dbpa as there is no standard for wav files. But what about the file names and folders/subfolders. One can use the DSP "ID TAG UPDATE" to pull info from the file name and location and create tags from that for the flac files.

    e.g., if file is

    c:\music\The Beatles\Revolver\01 Taxman.wav
    etc.

One can use the "mapping" in ID Tag UPDATE to create automatically:

    Artist: The Beatles
    Album: Revolver
    Track: 01
    Title: Taxman

    etc.

once setup properly, one can do this for thousands of files at once.

      Thank you garym.

Yes, the wavs are filed in folders the following way:
      c:\music\The Beatles 1966 Revolver\01 Taxman.wav

How can I setup the dMC to use these for tagging flacs?

      many thanks

Install the ID TAG UPDATE DSP from the dbpa/illustrate downloads page. After installing it, look at the instructions for using this. In effect, you'll just be telling it where in the string certain info is contained (the album name, the artist name, etc.)
