Album Artist tied to Compilation-flag

If I turn Compilation on with value '1', Album Artist -tag is added with value 'Various Artists'.
It cannot be removed without removing Compilation. Is this tie necessary?

In my case the compilation is a 'Best of' -album of a single artist.

Depends on player used, if it is a good player you can leave the album artist blank.

What I mean is that I cannot get rid of the 'album artist' -tag or edit it blank. It sits there with value 'Various Artists' whatever I do unless I remove the compilation-flag

The text box is not disabled, you should be able to type any value you want into it.

Maybe I can live with this. Null string '' is still converted to 'Various Artists', but space ' ' is preserved. I just don't like meaningless tags, and would like to be able to remove them altogether.
