I am aware of how to set the recording in windows. I am not kidding i.e. when I select MIC and speak ..the recorder shows it is recording but the playback sound is like the end of a 45 or 33 rpm album. Other software such as Musicjuke box will not record at all i.e. cd's, line in, mic in, or system mixer. No playback sound with Windows recorder, MusicJuke box does not record.Originally posted by SpoonDouble Click your Speaker Icon >> Options >> Properties

The problem is that I installed dmc to see if it would improve the quality of my recordings. Everything was working fine beofre I installed dmc. dmc did not record anything hence, now, none of the other recording applications work either. This is extremely frustrating, sinceI have tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc. What happened? What can be done? Please Help...Comment

dMC shouldn't touch recording abilites. Try updating your sound card drivers.Comment

Thanks for your input. I was able to fix the problem however it was not simple. I had to delete all of the registry entries using regedit that were found in the Illustrate folder within the Windows registry. I would like to try the dmc product, however at this time I believe it is not compatiable with other recording software e.g. Musicmatch Jukebox. I would suggest that you look into this problem. Thanks again... PS My OPS Win 98Originally posted by SpoondMC shouldn't touch recording abilites. Try updating your sound card drivers.Comment

Sorry about your bad experience with Music Converter. FYI- I have used Music Converter with other recording software (including Musicmatch Plus) with both Windows 95 and Windows XP systems. Windows 98 does require the download of 2 system updates for Music Converter to function properly. These are listed on the page where you download Music Converter. I mention this in case you had overlooked this and would like to give Music Converter another try.
Best wishes,

Odd anything in 'Illustrate' is private within the registry. I wonder if the Shell Property sheets of dMC are causing a bug in Musicmatch.Comment
