    WMA -> MP3 crash..HELP!!!

    Hi All,
I`m new here so maybe you`ve already heard about this issue....

Whenever I select a WMA file to be converted into MP3 Lame, I get an Illegal Operation Error and the application crashed and shuts down. The details of the error are...

MUSICCONVERTER caused an invalid page fault in
    module MUSICCONVERTER.EXE at 017f:004033e9.

Please consider that I have installed the right CODEC for WMA and the one for MP3 Pro (same error if I select MP3 Pro) and I made no changes to the bitrate.

I also installed the patch dmc_lame_enc370 with no changes.

    Any idea?

Thanks a million for your help.
    Ciao.

Try converting it to wave, that will tell me if it is WMA crashing or Mp3. Also hold the mouse over a WMA file to get the popup info - make sure the files are not protected.

I have a problem too. WMA converter just crashes, no matter what I try to do with it.

      For example:

Yes, this is encoding from mp3 to WMA. I also tried decoding mp3 to WAV first, and then from WAV to WMA... Same thing happens again.

I'm running Win-95 on this computer. (Of course, I installed all required system updates first.) On my other (NT 4.0) computer everything works great!

I am 90% certain it works fine in Windows 95 - all I can think is that install of Windows 95 has something wrong with it (Windows 95 can become messed up after a period of time).

              Same problem here...

I have windows 98 2nd Ed. installed and I installed the wma codec, but I can't convert from wma to mp3 or wav.

The message it gives me is the following:

For those with a problem converting FROM a wma file try this test:

                Look in C:\Windows\Media

Pick any of the Wave files

Convert it to WMA any bitrate

Try converting the new WMA file back to wave, does it work?
