Converting high definition flac files to 16 bit/44.1 KHz aiff for an iPod Classic

I downloaded different high definition flac files (from 24/96 to 24/192) from different websites (for example: Hdtracks), but as known iPods are unable to play high def. resolution formats, that's why I want to convert my high def. flac files to 16/44.1 aiff files.

My question is: Which is the better way to do it with dBpoweramp ( 14.2 Reference ) ?

    1. I choose the files I want to convert from the directory, than I adjust "Converting to : Aiff", than I manually adjust the "Bit depth" to 16 bit, the Sample rate to 44,1 KHz and the Channels to Stereo (or leave it on "as source")

    or

    2. I choose the files I want to convert from the directory, than I adjust "Converting to : Aiff", than I leave the Bit depth, the Sample rate and the Channels on "as source", and at the DSP Effets I add "Bit Depth" (choose Fixed Bit Depth: 16 bit and Apply Dither: Triangular (TPDF)), than I add "Resample" (and at "Resample to Frequency" I adjust 44100)

or these two converting modes are the same?

    Thanks for the answer!
