It means something has written extra information to the end of the file, perhaps an ID Tag, but the writer did not include it in the riff chunks (structure of the wave file).

Ok, so is the file damaged in some way ?

How can I fix this issue? Could it be something I've done ? I did rename the wav files.

Does test conversion work ok with wav ?

If I convert wav to flac do I lose or harm the data in anyway ?

With the download from paul mccartney.com there comes a limited and un-limited version. This is how i named them both (The one with the "error" is the bottom file name") -

Paul McCartney_McCartney 24 Bit (Un-Limited)_20_Women Kind (Demo Mono) (2011 Remaster) (Hi Res Unlimited Version).wav

Paul McCartney_McCartney 24 Bit (Limited)_20_Women Kind (Demo Mono) (2011 Remaster) (Hi Res Limited Version).wav

It is likely they were made this way.

          The audio is not corrupted.

Is it worth re-downloading the file again from the site or just leave it ?

How do you know the audio is not corrupted spoon ?

because the message is just a warning not an error. and the warning is just pointing at this "extra info" embedded at end of file (your naming of the files have nothing to do with this). And converting to 24/96 FLAC will not cause you to lose any data. WAV is lossless, FLAC is lossless. Lossless=Lossless (that's the point of lossless files).

I opened it up quickly yesterday through winamp and it opened up ok. Just seeing the error, the nagging doubt creeps in. Its only the one file, GARYM out of the whole download. Which is why i have questioned checking with the site.

it is not an ERROR though. Just a warning reporting the information. You opened the file. Did you listen to the file? p.s. it is not uncommon that downloaded hi-rez files sometimes have odd things. I forget the company, but one major download company had 24/96 flac files that always created problems with some players. Simply reencoding the Flac to a new Flac file solved the problem.

Hi garym, no I've not listened to it yet. Bit concerned too ! Bit odd its one file out of 40. So. Converting to flac is fine and might correct the issue ? Why can't it just be ok and normal.

If it were mine, I'd want to covert these WAV files to FLAC anyhow. Better tagging management.

Well, there is no tagging management on wavs, hence the massive file names ! So not worth mentioning to the site about this one file ? What would a normal person do in this case?
If I listened to the file, what would I expect to hear if there was a problem ?

that's what I meant. WAV has no standard file managment. FLAC does. That alone is a good reason to use FLAC over WAV in my opinion. What would a normal person do? Listen to the file? If there was a problem, the file would most likely NOT PLAY AT ALL. And if there is a problem with pops and clicks, it would likely be VERY obvious, not subtle.
