I want to create a single flac file with cue sheet file (not embedded) from separate flac files.
Yes I hear some of you say why the hell do you want to do that, why don't you just rip to CUE ….?
Well I do not have the CD, I've downloaded albums from the likes of Linn Records and B&W Society of Sound and the albums are supplied as separate files.
And why do I want a CUE file? Because my lovely Colorfly C4 player is not a gapless player and does not read embedded CUE sheet info, also it does not remember where it got to in a track / album / folder after restarting - it will playback a CUE file with embeded CUE sheet info but does not read that track info so does not allow track skipping / navigation. The C4 does a fine job of playing music but everything else about it is a little basic – it's a bit like an early CD player in that respect.
I can create a CUE file using Foobar but that doesn't give me a separate CUE sheet file – at least I haven't found the option yet - I can then use CUETools to create a CUE sheet file. But it would be really nice if I could use one application for the entire process and even better if that app was the one I have already bought a license for thinking it would do anything I throw at it!
I guess I could make an audio CD first, thus creating a back-up, then rip to CUE, maybe that's the way to go?
