    5.1 to stereo conversion question

I have several 5.1 FLAC files that I wish to convert to 2 channel stereo without loosing any information (i.e., channels).

So my question is what happens to the non-left/right channels when dBpoweramp music converter (free version) converts a 5.1 FLAC file to a 2 channel stereo FLAC by selecting the appropriate options?

Any info will be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

They are mixed in, at 75 % volume

Re: 5.1 to stereo conversion question

        Hi-

Reference version. Just to be clear: if I want to convert 5.1 to 2 channel, I can just use the "channel count" function and tell it "convert to 2 channels"? Or do I also need the "channel mapping" function? If I need the channel mapping, what are the settings?

        thanks

          You can use Channel Count.

Channel mapping allows individual control on the mixing.
