Converting Flac with Tags to Appe Lossless very Slow CPu throttle by 2-3 %

    Hi
I have a great Flac Collection. Now i will convert to Apple lossless.

    I habe a Core-i7 with 4 Cores and 8 Threads.

Now i set Multi Cpu Force, and Delete Source Files.

Now At Convert Start, the encoding Speed goes to 280X . Speed an all Core are good busy.

After 10 Seconds the Speed goes permanently upt to 25X Speed down after 3 Minutes .

Whats the Problem? The Hardisk is a 7200 WD . Their Speed are good. i copied some other Files with 125 Mb/s.

Why goes dbPowerAmp so down? It lasts with this Speed very long Time.

    Sorry for my bad English

It not only has to read from 8 files at the same time, but write to also (lots of seeking), that is why for lossless we normally do not use multiple CPUs as the HDD is the slowest part.

      Hi

Ok. I disable now The DSp Effect :Multi CPu Force. But the Encoder tetrode encode an write with 8 threads?

So.I change the Multi-CPu Force to 4 Cpus. Now it goes down from Start Speed 400x to 65x Speed. Not the best Speed. But better as 25x. An the CPu throttle away.

Edit. So i change to 2 CPu . The Speed goes to 120x. CPu rae good busy. i will see next with 1 CPu
