.ra to .mp3 - snap/crackle/pop noises

I have noticed when I use this product to convert .ra to .mp3 files, the volume of the new file is much lower than the old, so I downloaded the Power Pack to get better volume normalization. Unfortunately, all the files I converted using simple normalization at 110% volume had a good volume level but the files were full of snapping/popping noises. What may have caused this? Also, when I try to change the file size, it disregards that completely and makes all files between 256-400 kbps, even though I have the slider bar set at 112-256 kbps maximum. It does this whether I use variable or average bitrate.

To get the bitrates correct try the latest beta version of dMC (in beta section).

For normalization the 110% is causing problems, I would do an 'Adaptive Normalize' set to 100%, see how that goes.
