converting MP3 to Wav

I am having a problem converting MP3 to Wav. I am using wav but can't seem to get it to work. I think it has something to do with not being able to change the settings to VBR from CBR... i want to use GSM 6.10. I had to reformat my computer but had dppoweramp and it worked before. Will appreciate your help!:

Wave cannot hold vbr data, anyhow is the gsm listed under the wave compression options?

Yes I used it before and it is listed in wav. But no matter what I use it doesn't convert... so I am trying to figure out what is wrong. I get a blank... I tried downloading codecs but that didn't seem to help.

It is likely the frequency or channel count which is causing issues, try a DSP effect to reduce the frequency to the value set on the GSM codec.

OK..... I too am having trouble converting to Wav from MP3 I am trying to use MPEG Audio Layer 3... & I keep getting errors. Getting very frustrated here. Almost to the point of ditching the whole program. I don't want a large file...I convert MP3 to use the wav files in my e-mails. This is why bought this program. I still want stereo but a small file as well.

On the wave encoder page select 'Wave-mp3' this uses our code to create the mp3 files not the system ACM encoder.

I'm not creating a MP3. I want to convert to wave. I right-click a MP3 file & convert to. Then I selected MPEG Audio Layer 3. This is the only option with a real small bit rate. Then I choose 8000Hz 24kbps CBR Stereo 2kb/sec.
This will make the song file small enough to use in e-mails.

Settings are automatically remembered between using the converter.
