FLAC to Apple Lossless *blooper* of albums/tracks

I have 5881 CD's in FLAC format containing 75,692 files on my system

I exported these to an external hard drive

I converted them to Apple Lossless using the batch converter and ended up with 5002 albums and 73558 songs (all the album art and info is there)

I checked all the "A" CD's on my system and they're all there in my itunes library

Any ideas as to what explains the discrepancy?

How are you counting albums? in iTunes or by Folder names?

I decided to try another approach and separated the 5881 flac folders into 31 sub-folders.

Now getting an error message that the files cannot be opened to encode to apple lossless

          Files now coverting to alac.

Have decided to do the entire job over, sorting the 5881 CD's into 31 sub-folders
