Can't edit tags for MP3 files in WIN2K

I hope someone can help me with this. I've checked other forum entries and can see that this is a common problem. I'm running Windows 2000 with a registered DMC Release 9a and power pack Release 3. As far as I can tell these are the latest. The files I'm trying to edit are not read-only but when I right-click Edit Tag and attempt to change the fields I can't seem to save the results. My changes are just ignored. I can't find any other information that might explain what the problem is. Please help. Thanks a lot.

If your mp3 files has 2 tags (id3v1 and v2) then you need:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/dMC-r10beta5.exe

to update them both.
