Encoder ate one of my files, how do I get it back?

Okay, so I tried to convert/overwrite an mp3 while it was still in use, apparently, by Windows Media Player.

dBpoweramp ate my file. How do I get it back?

If the file was in use then it is not possible for dbpoweramp to delete it, something else deleted it.

It created a temporary copy of the file and when I closed the program (WMP) that the file was open in, it deleted both of them

dBpoweramp would not do this, there is no delayed delete in dBpoweramp
