I sometimes convert high resolution (e.g. 24/96) files to FLAC or mp3 for playback on my Sonos system or in the car. I use the DSP effects "bit depth" and "resample" to convert the high resolution files to 16/44.1 files.
I'm wondering if it's OK to leave those DSP effects in my conversion setup when they are not required.
For example, if I am converting 16/44.1 FLAC to 16/44.1 mp3, is it necessary to remove the DSP effects for bit depth and resample, or will they simply be ignored in the batch conversion process if they are not needed (because the FLAC files are already 16/44.1)?
