    Adding Files during Conversion

Converting a big number of FLAC files to mp3, using [origpath]/[origtitle] we developed, that at the mp3 folders in the artist folder dBpoweramp created - like normal, the album folder including the tracks. But in addition to that, it added to every album folder one track direct in the artist folder with incorrect tag informations i.e. wrong track numbers, wrong composer names (Bac%, J.S.) etc.
    What's wrong?

Before you do the conversion click the 'List / Rename' button, this shows the exact filenames which are going to be used. As long as you are not using [Multi-Encoder] these are the final filenames.

      Re: Adding Files during Conversion

Thank for the quick answer - but we have a misunderstanding.
      For Example:

We have the Symphony Nr. 3 of Beethoven ( 4 sets) conducted by Simon Rattle.
In the flac library it is:
      Folder: Simon Rattle
      ----------Subfolder: Beethoven, 3rd Symphony
      ------------------------in the subfolder 4 Files: Set1, Set2, Set3, Set4

After conversion we have in the MP3 library:
      Folder: Simon Rattle
      ------------Subfolder: Beethoven, 3rd Symphony
      -------------------------in the subfolder 4 Files: Set1, Set2, Set3, Set4
in the folder (same lavel as the subfolder) 1 additional file named Set2, (but if you play ist, it is Set 4)

        Re: Adding Files during Conversion

You cannot have 2 filenames with the same name, so there cannot be 2 Set2.mp3, what is the file type?

          Re: Adding Files during Conversion

          The files are .mp3 files
Same file names are possible because they are in different folders, like I tried to explain.
How can I send a screenshot of the explorer?

          Thanks

                Re: Adding Files during Conversion

I am not sure why this is happening, try clearing all mp3 files and convert just track 21 on its own, are 2 tracks created?

Also the 'wrong' track, what file size is it?, the same size as the one in the folder?

                  Thanks for you reply.

First: The Track Numbar outside the folder is in a lot of folders incorrect. Sometimes it's for example labelled track 8 and in reality it ist track 3.
In the case shown it was really track 21.
Second: The size is different. the file in the folder has 7.294 kb, the "extra" ouside file has 8.955.
Third: I ripped track 21 separately with a "ok" result. Size: 7.294.
Fourth: I ripped the whole CD a second time with a "ok" result, without an additional track outside the target folder.

Thanks for your further comments and advise.

                    Re: Adding Files during Conversion

Try ripping each track individually so you can see which track is creating that file, and if it is repeatable.

Everything worked fine - no problem - no file added.
It's probably only a problem with the batch-conversion...

Try converting individual files, if not problem then the whole album. Each time you have the list / rename button which shows the final filenames.

I did - everything worked fine - good results.

As i wrot before - I converted the FLAC-folder again with good resutlts and without mistakes.

Could it be related the batch conversion?

Batch converter is the same really as individual conversions, the same engine is used.

ok, but what could be the reason for these additional files?
