    dbPowerAMP music converter

    www.fourthmember.com

Hi there. I am yet to use dbPowerAMP music converter sucessfully as of yet. That's not to say it's not a great program.

I go to use it as per instructions, it returns the error :

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\guti.mp3.TEMP.mp3' could not be opened.

understanding guti.mp3 is a wave file I have recorded using ddclip.

I have used another wave file to try to convert with the same results.

Could it possibly be that lame is not fully installed ro was not fully included with the package?

Any help would be great thanks.

    Helmut

I have heard some people having some probs with lame. I don't use it myself but Spoon does suggest altering your compression settings for mp3 as some combinations do not work.

    and weclcome to dbpoweramp! :D

        Quick Reply...

        Thanks for your quick reply.

        Will try that out...

Do you suggest trying a different Compression agent so I might be able to squish them a bit more?

you could check out modatic's chart he did here : http://modatic.net/audio/best_lossy_audio_format.php

          vorbis/ogg has a good range.
