Unable to convert aac to Mp4

I have a bunch of raw .aac files with ID3 v2.3 tags. I'm trying to convert them to a playable format on my iPod. They are AAC LC 128-bit 16-bit stereo. These come from streamripper (sadly Shoutcast is entirely blocked at my work).

    I get these errors:

    Error converting to [aac to m4a], 'C:\Stuff\Test File.aac' to 'C:\Stuff\Test File.m4a'
Error decoding AAC, file is AAC? [clfaad::Create]

Strangely, the files play perfectly fine in multple players I have tried, including Winamp WMP, and several players in Linux.
They also will convert with MP4Box.

If our decoder will not read them there is little we can do.

      Hi,

If it is choking on the tags, then use such as mp3tag to either fix them or export them before removal.

They convert perfectly fine using MP4Box and -add -mpeg4 They are saved as MPEG-2 AAC-LC.

I'll just use that instead. It's free and open source.
