It is very usual for me to purchase software, but I was cleaning out my email folders and found a receipt for dbpoweramp - $18.00

First off a huge congrats to you. You either made some truly amazing software or software that is nearly impossible to pirate. I almost never buy software, exception being stuff like MMOs where you need an active subscription to even log in.

Sooo... I was just curious if I need this at all. IIRC there is plenty of music converting software so I have no idea why I bought this.

Feel free to respond via PM I'm sure its bad for business to link to free alternatives, etc. on the forums.

I suggest you try some of the free converters (some of them you might get more than the converter, such as web tracking software, etc) then report back (if all you are doing is converting, not ripping), do a comparison. Actual http links would be frowned upon, but you can mention product names if you wish.

Interesting.. found a thread by me. It turns out I needed this to convert a m4b audio book into a mp3 for listening to on a non-ipod or something. I guess dbpoweramp was the only way to do it at the time, or I had cash in my pocket and got lazy. Anyways gj on getting my business you have no idea what a feat that is. :P

You can bet your ass I didn't pay for the audio books! :D

Using it right now to convert .flac to mp3 because windows media player is garbage but I like some of its visualization plugins.

Do you have a recommended visualizer for 1080p on a high-end computer? Haven't really found anything that pushes my system.

I just realized I could have probably gotten a FLAC codec for WMP or a plugin, but I had this lovely software I bought so I used that and it did its job quickly and efficiently. bravo!

Still looking for a better visualizer than Morphyre. The 3D and 3D vision rendering isn't required, just something that changes well to music but not all the bells and whistles would even work.
