Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Update:
Problem appears to have been due to conflicts generated from using two security programs for virus protection. They undermined each other and interfered with my music converter. I've converted dozens of files, since uninstalling a security program, without receiving error message. Thank goodness. Good to have lame at my disposal still.
Thanks

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Fraunhofer is from the inventors of mp3 (Fraunhofer Institute), it is a commercial mp3 encoder.

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
I contacted McAfee and uninstalled Avast due to conflict there.
However, I want to add the dbpoweramp program to my firewall list to give it full permission. What is the location of the .exe file for dbpoweramp? I found the Illustrate folder in Programs(x86) but could not find an exe file. Please advise.
Thank you.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
How does the fraunhofer differ from lame mp3 encoder?Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
I am unsure why this is happening, as of the millions of dBpoweramps out there, it does not happen. The Fraunhofer is a work around in this instance.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Fraunhofer is same as lame, no?
Anyhow, I wish to use lame. Always have. We do not seem to be getting to the root of the error problem.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
I would recommend using the Fraunhofer mp3 encoder, if you install the reference codec pack:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
The problem is still unresolved.
If this is the course of action I need to take, please give directions to turn off security software as there appears to be no simple on/off mechanism for doing this.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Often security software can block programs from doing valid things (such as running other programs, or Virus checkers can lock files whilst they scan them in realtime, so the program which wants to access the file cannot), like I said it was a test only.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Disabling my security software sounds unappetizing, to say the least. I'm not even sure how I would do so, considering the fact that Microsoft, McAfee and Avast all have some portion of the process.
Can you be more specific or provide instructions? Also, why?Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
Nothing to do with defrag. Try to disable your security software as a test.Leave a comment:

Re: conversion error: Encode Block?
It happened four out five times last night.
I have a new computer. This never happened on my old one. I did a drive defragment the other day. Hope this didnt somehow corrupt my dbpoweramp program?Leave a comment:
