    ALBUMART - how to keep

I have some 1.500 cd's ripped in a few different formats and in various libraries. Several are FLAC and where the album art is stored in a separate file : Folder.jpg in each library (one library for each album).

The file stucture is not harmonised at all. I would like to harmonsie the file structure now, once and for all so I can have som good way of checking for duplicates, when merging libraries in the future.

My idea to to batch convert the lot to a new library and hartmonise the file structure Artist/Album/Track (+ Folder.jpg)

When I run this I obviously do not get the album art file with me. Any solution to this?

Use the DSP effect 'ID Tag Processing', there is an option to import folder.jpg when converting.

      Wonderful!

Will I need to reconvert, or can I simply start again (with the change you indicate made) and say Yes to All when asked to ignore duplicates, hence only 'copy' the folders?

You will need to convert again (and overwrite the existing).

Many thx, any ref or links on how to get iTunes album art 'with me'. I.e. get the iTunes generated album art as for example a Folder.jpg?

If iTunes has embedded the artwork you cna get it is a folder.jpg, if it is keeping the artwork locked in its database for its own use only, you will need a different tool.

              OK nice,

if run both "create folder.jpg from imbedded album art" AND "copy folder.jpg" and run into a case where I have both an imbedded album art and one folder.jpg. Do I get two folder.jpg, or does one take priority (hopefully the file rather than the embedded..or?)

You would get one, which one depends on the order of DSP effects (you are using 'Folder.JPG preserve' effect also?)

Finally, after two years in the darkness. Here is a program that takes the iTunes proprietary albumartdatabase and distributes the album art to each album folder. With dbpoweamp I can then get the setup I have searched for.

I guess this would give possibility to make a batchjob to find cover art through iTunes, whatever application one uses!
