Hi,
I have several high res 24/96 and 24/88.2 albums in FLAC format. I want these to convert to MP3 for use on my iPod and other players in my network that doesn't support FLAC.
When I convert them directly from FLAC to MP3 with Lame (highest quality VBR setting) this works fine and the tracks are re-sampled to 16 bits and 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz automatically depending on the source sample rate.
How does this works? Is this conversion handled by Lame itself or invokes dMC the sample rate converter and bit depth conversion of the DSP first in the background?
Is this the best way, or do I get better quality by using the SSRC and bitdepth converter by invoking them first manually in the DSP pane?
