BTW I really appreciate all the advice!!!!!

    Thanks!
    Oh, you're welcome.

It will not touch that folder. If it makes you feel better, you can just rename the folder to something different.

I think your 30-day trial period may start over, but not sure. It might just continue.

*** if you are using dBpowerAMP Audio Player, backup your music collection first ***

      1) Reboot PC, Select 'Start' >> 'Run' and type:

      regedit.exe

      Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate
      delete the Key (folder) 'dBpowerAMP'.

      2) Using Windows Explorer, open C:\Program Files\Illustrate and Delete the folder 'dBpowerAMP'

      3) Reinstall, one by one dMC and Codecs.

and the fact you say that drive "E:" is working fine tells me your OS system is not set up right. unless you have partitions on your hard drive or morethan one hard drive?

if you only have one hard drive and no partitions then you should only have drice c for the hard drive and drive "d" for the cd rom.

Is that really necessary? Aren't the playlists in MMC just shortcuts to the actual audio files? Of course, backing up anything can never hurt.

Can't that all be done automatically by using Windows Add/Remove Programs feature?

Well, that doesn't always get rid of everything, so a registry edit is in order if yuo're having problems to start with.

I think that is an excellent suggestion. Those who are just learning how to use computers should probably stay away from the registry if possibe. A registry editor/cleaner program should get rid of any orphan registry files after using uninstall.

                Hello Again!

Ho boy! I'm afraid I'm still quite the novice,
much moreso than most of you, so I'm hesitant
to uninstall or start pulling wires just yet.

Perhaps it's for the best. I tried just clicking
the insert d drive window cancel button.
It didn't cancel the operation, just
the d drive window, and I can
now open the drive on the
                next screen writer then.
But when I load a cd
                audio disc in there to
                rip with the dsp
                effects I can't see
                any files/ tracks.

                What to do?

Not tracks or no track names?

Right click the arrow to the right op Options button > Standard CD PLayer EMulation > Table of Contents detection : either checked or unchecked - see which worj=ks.

I am assuming you selected the proper drive in Options > cd drive: pick correct drive > Advaced > cd communication> vary the selection - 2000/NT Device IO or 2000/NT Built-in (limited) .
