    Tagging on Windows 7

I have used track tagging with XP and Vista. Just put Music Converter on 7 and I can not create track tags. I get an error message. And when I change tag information it does not work. Anyone have any ideas to make it work. Thanks

For which audio format? what are you doing (ripping, manual edit), when the error is shown?

This is happening when I try to manual edit mp3,wma,mp4, ogg. If I just try to change tags and hit OK, then I look and nothing changed. When I try to add tags to songs that have no track tags, I get a error message with a message - X unable to write ID tags for ____ title. The box framing the error message is labled ID dbpoweramp. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. I can convert with no problem. I am thinking it is 7 but maybe something obscure.

        Are the files read only?

No, and I have tried many different files. First time I have ever had this happen and have used dbpoweramp for years. Could dual boot have any thing to do with the problem?

Just discovered that I can edit on other drives, one external fat32 and internal ntfs. It is just the new music drive I put on this new windows 7. Hitachi ntfs 2T. Still can't figure out why with only this drive, no manual edit with track tags.

Something must be blocking write access.

Some how all the music was put into a read only state when I transferred it on to the new drive. When I checked in properties the other day, read only was not checked, but they still were read only. Weird! I could not edit in itunes either. So my solution is to start over. Delete and drag it over a second time. This time I can access the songs. Still wish I knew why they got like that in the first place. Thanks
