    Album Covers With Music Converter

I played around with Music Converter last night just to see how it would work if say, my AIFF drive failed, and I had to convert FLAC folders (flac and .jpeg). Just using MC, it opens up a windows screen to choose indiv. songs or albums (if you click each song that is), only audio codecs can be chosen. I see no way to incl. the .jpeg/album cover with the conversion. (The ripper is working right, putting albums under artists named folders, with .jpegs of album covers in each album folder)

I then opened to try Batch Converter, andI tried to convert one album to see how it too worked. Again, no way to transfer the .jpeg along with the AIFF conversion. I only saw something I didn't understand yet, I think it was the option of including a .XLS (?), which I tried, but it is not the album cover.

So Spoon, is there a way to incl. album art is included when I do FLAC to AIFF conversions?... Batch or Indiv. coversions?

    Thanks Spoon!

Install the DSP effects Beta 7 (in the beta section of this forum), there is a new easy effect 'Folder.jpg Preserve'

I downloaded it Spoon. I see DSP Effect: Release 7 Beta on the db config option, but didn't see anywhere the option to add this DSP, nor did it do it automatically as I converted one song. The song converted, but no album art. I then read on the beta forum that it requires M. Converter v14, I only have 13.5. Is this the problem?

On the converting page (where you select the encoder) add the DSP effect at the bottom.

Try'ed it Spoon. But there's no option of "beta 7" from the drop down list.

I've also downloaded the DSD codec for my sacd's, and the ripper isn't working on them, so I also thought it might be under the same "DSP Effect" tab, but isn't...so is this the reason? Maybe the two are related?

Thanks again for the help Spoon,

            Chris

Edit: I see now, it's called Folder.jpeg preserve. Works great. Should I start a new thread in the ripping section to figure out my sacd issue?

It is not possible to rip SACDs as anything other than 16 bit.

Yes Spoon, but shouldn't it still at least recognize the sacd, and then rip it in 16/44? When I put one in the cdp, cd ripper doesn't even recognize it. The screen just stays white.

Perhaps your CD drive cannot read that type of disc.

Perhaps so. Bummer too as I have quite a bit of sacds. If I were to replace the cd drive, what kind of format does it have to read for the sacd decoder to work if you know?

SACD discs AFAIK are a little thicker, so it is not a specification, rather pot shot luck.
