Batch Converter Slows, Then Hangs

Converting FLAC to ALAC on a XP Pro machine with a fresh install of the latest Music Converter;
AMD Athlon Dual Core
BE-2400 Processor, 2.31 GHz
1 MB RAM

Conversion speed starts out nice, then slows to under 1x... then finally freezes.

I have one instance as well where I tried to convert only the album folder the converter got hung up on and it freezes in the same spot (1st file in this instance) right away.

Does the computer freeze also? of can you end task the conversion?

No, computer is fine and I can End Task. When I cancel the Convert, it doesn't seem to respond, however, after canceling one of the times, I walked away before Ending Task and noticed from across the room that it finally canceled after a few minutes. Don't know if this was isolated or if I were to be extremely patient, it might cancel every time.

Try converting to 'Test Conversion' does it lock up then?

I Test Converted the Artist Album w/1 Album Folder that I knew was hanging & it worked flawlessly. Then went back and tried to covert to ALAC. Got hung up on the same 1st song. Definitely had to Force Quit that one.

Yes. And it's done it on a few so far.

If you right click on one of the files >> convert to >> alac that should also lock up?

Yep. And I tried 3 files in the example of the Problem Convert album folder and it happened to all 3. It seems to get through the Encoding then gets hung up. It just keeps flashing "Verifying Written File" & "Writing Tags" back and forth forever while the encode speed diminishes.

Thx very much!

Can you give me some direction on how to address the picture issue? I'm not sure how or why this has happened... or even proficient enough yet in metadata to understand what the proper way to imbed an image is, and how.
