What happens if you open a command window and paste:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a Nero (AAC)\neroAacEnc.exe

'Program' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

        Try:

        "C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a Nero (AAC)\neroAacEnc.exe"

That is the problem, something is stopping that exe from running.

              Spoon, i found the bastard!
Application control under Kasperskys, but its never blocked it before.
Maybe in latest releases mate, include the neroaacenc in the program when installing, to get around this problem.
Thanks a million for your input Spoon!

Re: Cannot Convert Flac To Nero AAC.

Hi there, would like to post what I found out and hope the next newbie using Windows 7 could save some time.

Had the same problem when converting files from FLAC to Nero AAC: zero-byte files. :vmad:

Here are the steps that work for me:

                1. Clean install dBpoweramp Reference R14.0 on Windows 7

                2. Run "dBpoweramp-Codec-m4a-Nero-AAC.exe"

                3. Download "NeroDigitalAudio.zip" from http://www.nero.com/enu/technologies-aac-codec.html

                4. Copy "neroAacEnc.exe" from the "win32" folder in the Zip file to
                “C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\encoder\m4a Nero (AAC)”

Note: "Program Files (x86)" for Windows 7 (64-bit) and "Program Files" for 32-bit Windows

                5. Open the "m4a Nero (AAC)" folder and right-click "neroAacEnc.exe" to open its Properties window

                6. Under the Advanced button, click the Unblock button (next to the paragraph under Attributes. It reads "Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer)." This security function is actually part of Windows 7 from Microsoft!

                7. Voila, now conversion is good to go and the zero-byte problem is gone

Would Illustrate please revise the help file -
                "C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\Help\Codec\m4a Nero (AAC) Encoder\help.htm"

This HTML file is automatically opened in Internet Explorer upon completion of running and installing "dBpoweramp-Codec-m4a-Nero-AAC.exe"
