    M4a not m4p? (we cannot convert m4p)

There is a utility codec called [Audio Info], install from codec central then convert the m4a file to Audio Info, enable the extra info option and post the results here please.

Yes I wanted to speak about m4a files and not m4p files you are right
I have install your utility codec and here the screen

      m4a file :

      Flac converted file :

screen Windows Media Player 12 - Windows Seven
Files m4a have tag completed and flac files not any tag

screen Flac converted file in Windows Media Player 11 - Windows XP

      and with MP3Tag
      m4a file :

and in the flac file the Album Artist tag missing :

Thanks a lot for your help......Do you have an idea how to proceed to convert m4a into flac readable with Windows media player ?

Re: M4A to FLAC Album Artist Tag missing

In your screenshot dBpoweramp is showing the flac file as containing an album artist tag, perhaps it is mp3tag which is not reading it...Open dBpoweramp Configuration >> Codecs >> Advanced

There are settings of how album artist is written in FLAC.

Exact in you Tag editor all informations are present
I think that the problem is that WMP does not read your format of Tag
I have try to install WMPTagSupportExtender.1.4 on both computer I have (on running Win XP and Windows Media player 11 and the other Win 7 and Windows Media Player 12)
The file converted in Flac work with the 2 versions of WMP, the illustration appear but no information : artist, album, composer, album artist ...etc
As you see on the attached picture : the .m4a files are ok but the .flac files do not have any information...but work perfectly....

Thanks vey much for you help..

Windows Media Player and Windows Explorer are two different things.

Ok here the screen taken on WMP12 running on Windows 7 Home with WMPTagSupportExtender.1.4 and Win7codecs_v231 installed
The Flacs files converted with dbpowerAmp from .m4a files are working in WMP12 sound good but not any TAG information as you can see here

Same result in WMP11 on Windows XP

Perhaps the tag extender is not working?

Re: M4P to FLAC Album Artist Tag missing

Album Artist can be several types of tag...

The panel in mp3tag refers to the tag "BAND".
dbPowerAmp uses the tag BAND in mp3, and ALBUMARTIST (or ALBUM ARTIST i'm not sure what's the default, you can configure it) in FLACs.

In mp3 you can either add a line in the panel with the ALBUM ARTIST tag, or (that's what I did) create a mapping to show you the ALBUM ARTIST tag instead of the BAND tag for FLAC files.

If you have a doubt, right click on the file in mp3tag and select "Tag...", you'll see all the tags in your flac files.
