Two questions regarding 5.1 channel surround sound

1. 1) Does dB Poweramp Music Converter Reference’s Fraunhofer IIS mp3 codec support encoding to mp3Surround?
2. 2) Can I use dBpoweramp to convert a Dolby digital AC-3 file to another surround sound compatible format (say mp3Surround is the answer to Q1 is “Yes”)? If so, how?

1) No

So then I take the text over on the Fraunhofer MP3 Code Central page which says

Fraunhofer invented the mp3 format, with such impeccable credentials their latest mp3 surround codec can be trusted.

...is incorrect?

I take that as implying MP3surround is supported?

AFAIK it will encode to 5.1, but you cannot decode from it in dBpoweramp (for all purposes mp3 Surround is dead).
