I'm not sure. Maybe you can tell from the above link? Mp3 and Ogg Vorbis play fine. Mp3's converted from WMA all show up as unknown album and have no album art. MP3's ripped as MP3 show up fine and display album art.

If you convert wma to mp3 with dbpoweramp, the tags are preserved.

That is true. And when I look at the folder structure on the PC, everything looks as it should. However when I copy the files to my samsung moment, all the tracks appear as unknown artist, unknow album. No doubt due the the particularites of the moment and it's android/google music player. I have tried other players on the app market, but still no solution.

I converted a few of my WMA files to Ogg Vorbis, and they show up perfectly on the moment. So that works at least.

I'm pretty certian it's a tagging issue, but no idea what. I've tried several different options, but no joy. When I look at the files on my pc, all the tag ino is there. Artist, title, genre, Album, etc..

May just go with the Ogg format. The downsides are no album art (saves space though, so maybe not all bad), and keeping/maintaining another database with duplicate tracks in a different format. Need to check and see if my other MP3 players will play Ogg. I know the I-river does. Not sure on the clip or the old 512K lol Samsung.

dBpoweramp writes unicode id3v2 tags, you can try ansi (dBpoweramp Configuration >> Codecs >> Advanced and switch the mp3 tagging option to ANSI).

Try setting dBpoweramp in "dBpoweramp Configuration" (See "Need to find your version?" below) to do "ID3v2.3 & ID3v1.1" tags to see if that helps.

Thanks. I've read elsewhere that it may be the device only recognizes 1.1 tags, but I'm having trouble using poweramp to do the conversion. I'll try again tonight or this weekend.

Thanks for the advise LT. I tried that and it did work somewhat. The music is now displayed on my phone with proper artist, album, ect.. Album art is not showing using meridian or the default player, but oddly enough does show using MortPlayer.

I began the process by reconverting a couple folders that I had prev ripped in WMA. I copied them to a "test" folder and did the conversion in place. I wound up with duplicates for each track (one WMA and one MP3). I suspect that is just a path parameter I did not code correctly and can probably be resolved fairly easily? The missing album art is a stumper though. To ensure that problem was not soley with the player, I re-ripped a cd straight into MP3 format and it works flawlessly on all the players (album art, tags, etc all correct and as they should be). So I still think it's a conversion issue I'm having with the WMA to MP3 conversion.

I don't think that album art is stored in ID3v1.1 tags, hence why the default player doesn't read them. The MortPlayer probably read the ID3v2.3 tags which lets it see the album art.
