Problem with file path/name on multi encoder.

    Hi,

I've tried to convert some flac files into different formats, such as mp3@320, mp3@V0, AAC and ogg. Then I decided to use a dynamic path to create different folders for each format, assigned to each codec used.

The first time I used the [encoder] and [encoder+] commands to add in the folder name after artist and album, then the slash. This worked and I got a nice bunch of folders which despite not perfectly named to my needs, allowed me to know which folder kept each file type. This was on my trial period.

Then this stopped to work and dBPA couldn't work in multicodec mode for trying to place all files into the same folder. I had to add a 1, 2, 3 in the path for each codec so the program could create different folders.

Trial period was about expiring, so I purchased the registered version and installed it. I had hopes this "bug" would disappear so the program would work as the first time I tried the [encoder] tab. But it didn't, I still have the same problem, dBPA won't add the codec type (or settings) to the file path, then I still have to add some character to force the creation of different folders to keep each file type.

Is this a known bug? Is there something I can do to get this feature working right?

    Advanced thanks

You are not using Multi Encoder? or you are?

Yes I am, it's in the thread title, sorry for not repeating it. To make things clearer, this is the kind of syntax used to tell the multi-encoder to make different directories to store the converted files:

      [artist] - [year] - [album] [encoder]\[track] - [title]

Since that and [encoder+] too created the very same path for all newly encoded files, dMC couldn't work. However the first time I tried it it worked fine.
Now, if I don't use the Multi-encoder and try those commands using a FLAC as the source for a single output MP3, the new folder adds FLAC, instead of mp3. Quite weird.

Is this a known bug? Something I may try to solve it? It's just a bug and you're working on it?
I'll be glad providing more info or trying to reproduce it under your conditions.

I will note as a bug, cannot promise time scales though. You could potentially do the conversion, then [Arrange Audio] to correct the location.

Yep, changing the folders names after conversion is done isn't a problem, nor making the folder names beforehand to recognize them and allowing dMC to put each newly encoded files correctly inside.
I have discovered that if converting from AIFF, [encoder+] makes correct changes and allows multi-encoder to work. When working from FLAC, it displays [FLAC....] on all the new folders and doesn't allow dMC to work, for it tries to place all new files into the same folder. So it seems that the command, when working with FLAC files doesn't change the tag to the new encoder used but keeps saying you're converting a flac file.

I hope you can solve it in the new version. Cheers.

I have something of the same problem.

When I place a FLAC encoder inside the Multi Encoder and put the following in Dynamic:

              [album][IFMULTI] - Disc [disc][]\[track] - [title]

Then the [IFMULTI] part is ignored, which isn't the case if the same settings are applied to a normal FLAC encoder (not part of a Multi Encoder).

Also I have added the new playlist Writer DSP to the FLAC (inside the Multi Encoder), and it doesn't seem to run at all! And by the way also ignores [IFMULTI] (if run outside Multi Encoder).

The above wouldn't be a problem if the 'Multi-CD Add Disc to Album' Meta settings worked, but it is also ignored (which is why I tried with [IFMULTI] in the first place.

I am using 13.4 and also tried in 14 beta.
