When converting to mp3 I always get a joint stereo, no mater if I set a codec to stereo

not sure about your issue, but if using LAME for your mp3 conversion keep in mind that joint stereo is actually the preferred method. A lot of people misunderstand the use of Joint stereo and somehow believe it is inferior to stereo. When in fact many knowledgeable people believe the opposite is true. Just google around on this, and pay close attention to posts at the hydrogenaudio.org forums.
