Unable To Convert Files

I purchased this software because the details in the download information provided when I Google'd an M4p to MP3 converter specifically indicated that it is compatible with WINDOWS 7 and 64-bit versions.

However, I am now suspecting this is not true.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and following the instructions on how to open music files using Windows Explorer (in the help section). When I open a file containing MP3 files, they appear in the window. However, whenever I highlight a file containing M4P files, NO FILES APPEAR.

Of course, I have selected "show all files" in the selection window.

Is there another way to convert M4P to MP3 with this software using my O.S.?

Please keep any responses very simple - I know more about brain surgery than I do file conversion. Which is to say - less than nothing.

Hi there, I may be wrong here but do you mean MP4? If you mean M4P you're using a protected format used by Apple, and circumventing the encryption is potentially illegal (based on where you live).

Hmmm...I guess I don't know. The files I can't play in my new computer say "MPEG-4 Audio File (protected). But I bought 'em from Itunes. Shouldn't I be able to play them on my MP3 player?

I live in Washington State, USA.

But anyway - are you suggesting the fact that I can't see these specific files when I try to open them with dbpoweramp has nothing to do with my using Windows 7 64-bit?

When I checked out the other link you sent, it seemed to direct me to a different kind of software. So - this software won't do it?

Yep, not a problem with your windows 7. Dbpoweramp can't do anything with these files. Given that these are itunes protected (DRM) files you can only play them on your IPOD/IPHONE and only if you load them on your IPOD from an ITUNES account where you have authorized the ITUNES to read these files.
