Using VST effects- should I increase bit depth?

Hi,

I want to use a VST effect. Should I use the bit depth DSP effect to change to 32 bit floating before I put my VST plug-in in? I assume most VSTs process internally at higher than 16 bit. Any ideas?

If they are compatible with 32 bit yes, or 24 bit.
