    lame.exe and core affinity

    Hi all,

I just noticed that while encoding multiple tracks to Lame mp3, the two sessions of lame.exe use the same core (Core 0) while encoding 2 tracks at the same time.
If i manually set one lame.exe session to Core 0 and the other session to Core 1, at the end of every track, both lame.exe sessions go back using the same Core 0, thus limiting the encoding speed.

Is there a way to keep the single lame.exe sessions using different cores for all the tracks?

I'm on XP SP3 on an AMD Opteron @2700

    Thanks!

Try the force CPU dsp effect.

      Re: lame.exe and core affinity

Hi Spoon, thanks for the advice, I did it yesterday but lame.exe still uses only Core 0 for both processes. I put checkmarks on CPU1, CPU2 and tried with Do Not Ally to Processor checked and not, no way. The best I can do is to use a core optimization tool and force each lame.exe process to use both cores but that's not what it is expected to happen.

      thanks
