I need a straight answer to this issue. I originally ripped a number of files to mp3 128kps. I later imported them into iTunes and had iTunes convert them to mp4 128kps. Still later I used dbpoweramp to convert the mp4's to FLAC and used the DSP functions on dbpoweramp to resample the file to 96khz and change the bit rate to 24bit. When I rip a cd I rip it to these specs in order to get a hi-res 96khz/24bit lossless FLAC file.
Now that you know the conversion history of these files, are the files I converted and resampled a true 96khz/24bit lossless FLAC file as the ones I rip from the original cd, or are they just bloated files which are not really any better quality.
