    Need Help with DirectShow codec

I installed the DirectShow Decoder and it shows as installed with file extensions .aa, .aac, and .aax. (I added the .aac)

When I try to convert a .aac file (which plays with Media Player) to an mp3 file, it gives me an error:

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\test.aac' to 'C:\test.mp3'
DirectShow filter for '.aac' file types is not installed, or audio file is corrupt. [clDecoder::Open]

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks.

I failed to mention above that I am running Windows 7 64bit and dBpoweramp version R13.3-Ref.

    Thanks.

Never mind. I figured out what was wrong. I do not have a direct show codec for AAC files. I just used the one from codec central. :smile2:
