    Mission: Awesome Audio

Hi everyone I'm new and I'm on a mission, to have all the tracks on my PC in the best possible quality.

At the moment my about 40% of my music is in flac, windows lossless and ALAC(for Ipod).

Ideally I would like to have them all in wav but I want to tag the tracks and as we all know you cant tag wav files. So I want to know what is the best lossless format that I can use, one that does the less compression possible and that also lets me tag the tracks.

I have alot of storage so its not an issue i just want the closest thing to CD and WAV quality.

You can tag wave files, just many players cannot read those tags...
All the formats you have mentioned are 100% identical to wave and CD, you cannot get any better than lossles.

Ahh well I had thought that since converting wav into flac or alac causes the file size to decrease that it would mean that the file would lose quality. I'm guessing that as long as the sample rate, size and also the bitrate stays the same then the quality isn't affected.

Is there a way to tag wav files? how? I do know I can add the files to libraries and then add the artist name, album and so on to the library but what i want to do is have the wav file itself carry the metadata.
