Convet to WMa lossless and Tag converted files?

Is there a way dbpowermap can convert .flac .wav or .shn to wma lossless and somehow tag it as if it were a cd with all the ID info?

Or can i point dbpoweramp to a folder with all the tracks of a single cd on it and have it ID all these tracks as if it were a cd and tag them?

Basically I'm trying to avoid burning tracks to a re writable cd just to get the id track info when I rip them. I'd like to convert the audio and ID it in one or two steps without burning to cd.

I want my audio in WMA lossless for the zune software and device.

Converting will only use the tags which are there already.

Wow what a bummer, so I do have to burn to CD and rip just to get IDtags applied? Seems like a feature they need to implement.

If you burn a CD you are creating a unique CD which does not exist anywhere else, so there is no metadata for it.

Ok lets say I have some .flac files that are not tagged, however if I decode them to .wav and burn them to CD, the cd ripper properly pulls in the IDtags when the cd is burnt because as a CD it is properly identified.

Now my thinking is why do I have to go through the extra step of burning it to CD just to get the IDtags? Why can't I point DBpoweramp to a folder of non ID'd .flac files and tag them as if it were a cd? Or if need be a folder of .wav files and have dbpoweramp simulate that it is a cd and do an id match on that groups of files?

Why don't you just use musicbrainz tagger.

If I want to tag a bunch of music with no tag, or of which I have a song that I do not know what is (and no tag info). I tend to use Gracenote® auto-tag with winamp. I have been able to tag whole folders of music with it, then send them to convert using dBPoweramp.
