Change speed of recorded wave files

I have many (~2000) micro cassettes that I need to digitize. Recording them is no problem except for the time required to do it. In an attempt to minimize my time I would like to record the audio to disc with the player set to its highest speed. The problem with this, of coarse, is that the resulting recorded audio sounds like a recording of Alvin and the Chipmunks. To fix this I need to slow the audio back down to normal speed. This can be done with Audacity (Speed Change) feature but I am hoping that one of the dbp DSP effects can accomplish this during the conversion from wav to mp3.

Does anyone know if there is such a DSP?

    Thanks,

Perhaps a VST or DirectX effect?
