    Moving embedded album art

    Hi Guys.
I'd like to do the following if possible.
My folder is set as follows [Artist]\[album]\[track] - [title]
Each file is tagged with the info i want and has album art embedded in the file.
What i am trying to do if possible is re-tag the files, leaving them in the original folder, but i want to keep the album art embedded but also have the album art it in the folder as "folder jpg".
    Thanks,
    Johnny D.

I apologise for starting this thread as i should have updated a previous post. I'd still appreciate advice please chaps

    Greetings Johnny D,

I may have a solution for you. Try using Batch Converter with the 'ID Tag Update' utility codec to export the album artwork to 'Folder.jpg' (this is found under 'Manipulation' tab).

    Hopefully that solves your problem.

    Kind regards,

    Jason.

      Hi js,
      Thanks for getting back.
      I'm still having a problem.
If i re-convert the files to mp3 and use dsp effects id tag processing, moving to another folder, all works well, and the album art shows in thew new folder as "folder jpg" and also remains embedded in the file
However i do not really want to go this route as it takes an awful long time as i have thousands of folders to do.
I do not no if it is actually possible to do what i want.
Like i said in the first post all i am trying to do is re-tag the files, leaving them in the original folder, keeping the album art embedded but also have the album art in the folder as "folder jpg".
I select the option id tag update, and under manipulation i select export album art to "folder jpg", import is left as "none" and i have ticked force embedded album art as jpeg. (i have tried it with this option unticked as well)
The DSP/Actions option is left empty.
The resulting folder and files are as the original. Nothing has happened. Am i doing something wrong or is it not possible?
      Thanks in advance,
      Johnny D.

In terms of "taking a long time" because you have thousands of folders, you do realize that you can point to your music directory with all these folders and do these steps automatically for ALL the folders (i.e., a few mouse clicks, let things run overnight, for example, and then you're done). You don't have to individually open all these folders and run these options.

            Hi spoon,
Do u mean is the folder which i'm trying to convert the tags a "read only" folder or do you mean something else?

              Hey up,
I think i've cracked it. Slightly different way though and i'd still like your thoughts please.
Under manipulation i set the export option to "cover.jpg" and that has worked exactly how i wanted it to.
I've only tried it on a couple of folders so far though.
Any idea why this method has worked and not he export to "folder jpg".
It's funny when i actually re-encode the files that the export to "folder jpg" works.
Any thoughts on that one gents?

folder.jpg might be there, but hidden (Windows Media Player can hide these files).

                  Thanks spoon,
I did rip some of my cds with wmp and i also used the paste artwork option on some as well, so that may be why it does'nt work.
It has worked successfully the "cover.jpg" way, so at least i'm a happy bunny again.
Thanks for all the help guys. I'll be back with another issue soon on a new post!
