No it doesn't on either flac or mp3. I'm not sure what you mean by what ID tag type is used.Comment

Re: Not preserving artwork when converting?
Greetings dnguy619,
I have encountered similar experiences and can perhaps be of assistance.
Is 'Album Art' selected under 'Meta Data & ID Tag' in the CD Ripper options? If it isn't, the album artwork is NOT being written to the ripped audio files. To overcome this, ensure 'Album Art' is selected.
Why is album artwork displayed when playing an audio file? By default, album artwork is written to a 'Folder.jpg' file that is stored in the same folder as the ripped audio file. Playback software will typically attempt to display album artwork embedded in the audio file, or use a 'Folder.jpg' file that is stored in the same folder as the audio file. Try renaming a 'Folder.jpg' file and playing an audio file from the same folder - there should be no album artwork displayed.
PLEASE NOTE: The following solution is a suggestion only and may not solve your problem and may result in data corruption or loss. Please ensure you have an up-to-date backup of your files prior to proceeding. I recommend attempting this solution on a sample of affected files that have been copied to a separate location.
Album artwork for audio files without embedded album artwork but with a 'Folder.jpg' file containing the album artwork and stored in the same folder can be imported using Batch Converter and the 'ID Tag Update' utility codec. In the settings for the 'ID Tag Update' utility codec, set 'Import Album Art From' to 'Folder.jpg' under the 'Manipulation' tab. Check the 'Maipulation' and other tabs and deselect or remove any uneccessary options. Now press 'Convert >>'.
I hope this helps to solve your problem.
Kind regards,
Jason.Comment
