    ApeV2 tags & ID3v2 & ID3v1

Is there a way to keep all three types of tags while converting to mp3 files?

    I mean this:

    Can you add ApeV2 & ID3v1 & ID3v2 or ApeV2 & ID3v2 option at least?

Thanks a lot for all your great work! Your encoder is really the best one!

Ape2 is not recommended in mp3 files, id3v2 is the one to use.

I wonder whhy it's not recommended?

Actually it will be much more easier for me, cause I'm using CDTag (cdtag.com) for creating releases with nfo and it stores all info in APEv2 (Album / Artist/ Year / Comment / etc) except specific tags for the track..

So, I cannot use ID3v1 due it's limited tags length. Tags in ID3v1 are too small and titles have been cut off..

      Thanks.

Because many decoders will decode the ape tag as audio and give noise, id3 tags do not have this as everything expects them.

          Thanks.
So that's why you would use ID3v2 (2.3 typically), because it doesn't have the length limit of ID3v1

If so than why are you allowing to create APEv2 & ID3v1, but not allowing APEv2 & ID3v2?

I just need to copy both ID3v1 & ID3v2 & APEv2 too. I think this option will be very easy to implement for you.

            thanks a lot.

We were actually thinking of removing APE writing support, not extending it...

In what version did you guys remove Apev2 support? I'd like to revert back to whatever version still supports it.

Reason being is that I use Mp3Gain to adjust the gain on my tracks however Mp3Gain only reads/writes the replay gain tracks in Apev2 so every time I convert a file with dbPowerAmp it removes the apev2 tags and Mp3Gain has to re-analyze - Not such a big deal with 1 track but when dealing with multiple tracks it becomes annoying.

Run Configure dBpoweramp, then look in:
Codecs >> Advanced Otions >> mp3 ID Tagging >> Tag Creation
